Experience something truly out of the ordinary – a floating restaurant and bar based in Ålesund. On board Kautokeino, we combine great flavours, a maritime atmosphere, and unique experiences at sea.
This is not a traditional restaurant. Here you get close to the ocean, dynamic surroundings, and an atmosphere that changes with the weather, light, and landscape.
Food and drinks with a taste of the sea
We have a strong focus on seafood and offer a selection of delicious dishes inspired by the coast:
- Shrimp sandwich and shrimp bun
- Creamy pasta with shrimp
- Bacalao
- Classic fish soup
- Charcuterie board
- Mussels
For those who prefer an alternative to seafood, we also offer a flavorful meat stew. Children can enjoy our homemade fish burger.
We are committed to quality and are happy to work with local suppliers wherever we operate – even when we are travelling.

Multiple zones – one unique experience
Nordlys Lounge (main deck)
Capacity: up to 60 people
A comfortable and cosy area where you can enjoy food and drinks sheltered from wind and weather. Perfect for dinners and social gatherings – also with karaoke.
Lounge and bar (upper deck)
Capacity: approx. 20 people indoors
With direct access to the sun deck, this lounge offers a more intimate and exclusive atmosphere.
Sun deck
Capacity: up to 55 people
This is where you can truly enjoy the summer – with stunning views, fresh sea air, and a great atmosphere.
